Melvin Powell
Project Manager

Melvin S. Powell III is a proud native of the “City of Brotherly Love” with a deep commitment to Philadelphia’s community and event landscape. After graduating from Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Melvin held key sales roles with the Philadelphia Eagles, 76ers, and Union, and later became the first full-time sales member for the non-profit Snider Hockey, where he generated over $175K in new business revenue.

Tapping into his entrepreneurial spirit, he co-founded the All Love Block Party and served as the Executive Director of Sunflower Philly from 2020-2022, helping execute over 200 community events. In 2020, alongside his business partner, he launched Sync Production Group, a consulting and project management firm. Following the success of their event series, he built the Black Soul Summer e-commerce platform, which launched in 2023, hosting over 50 event organizers and 150 events in its first year. Melvin and Sync Production Group are dedicated to expanding their services to empower black and brown event organizers.
