Terrill Haigler
Founder, Trash 2 Treasure (and YaFavTrashman LLC)

Less than three months after accepting a laborer position for the Philadelphia Streets Department’s Sanitation Division, Terrill Haigler became an essential worker during the pandemic. To bridge the gap between residents and sanitation workers, he created the Instagram account Ya Fav Trashman to give residents an inside look at what sanitation workers experience during the pandemic.

When Terrill noticed that his co-workers didn’t have the proper PPE to execute their jobs safely, he bridged the gap by starting a Custom Ink t-shirt fundraiser to purchase PPE, hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies, catapulting him to viral sensation.  Since then, he has become an influencer (with 28.7K Insta followers), sanitation guru, public speaker, brand ambassador, entrepreneur, author, environmental activist and clean-up evangelist.

Through his non-profit, Trash 2 Treasure, he provides a hub for communities to access resources necessary for transformative change.  Through the nonprofit, Terrill runs neighborhood cleanups, expungement clinics, financial literacy workshops and food drives.  Terrill was named Billy Penn’s Most Valuable Philadelphian in 2021.
