Circling Back to Where It All Began: The Spring Members Meeting

Events, Members, News · May 12, 2022

To stick with the theme of circularity that guides Circular Philadelphia’s entire mission, we are returning to where it all began for our spring members meeting. In June of 2021, we launched Circular Philadelphia with a great group of circular economy enthusiasts and professionals at Sunflower Philly at 5th and Cecil B. Moore.

Almost a year to the date, we are proud to be back at Sunflower Philly to host our spring members meeting on June 7th from 5-8PM. As we compare the guest list from June 2021 and our membership list now, it’s remarkable how many people who attended that event became members. Our only regret was that due to the pandemic, we intentionally kept that invite list small. And yet our membership has grown substantially beyond that initial meeting to include the 68 individuals and 32 organizations who are members today. Of course, we want to grow this number further, but we are so thankful for such a strong and involved membership and board that are driving this organization forward.

So in the spirit of celebration and getting things done, our spring members meeting is going to be equal parts party and working session. From 5-6:30, we invite you to enjoy the Sunflower Philly space, play some lawn games and have some drinks, courtesy of our sponsor Vicinity Energy, and snacks from our member organization Tiffin Indian Cuisine. We’ll use that time to also collect some thoughts on the direction of the organization that you can post at the different lawn game stations.

From 6:30 to 7, we’ll present on all of Circular Philadelphia’s progress since the last members meeting, and we’ll release our one-year progress report. From 7-8, we will open the meeting our members for a facilitated members forum where we can reflect on these successes and chart the course for the next 6 months. If you’re member, you don’t want to miss this!  Check your e-mail for information from us on how to register for free on Eventbrite.

If you’re not a member, what are you waiting for?  Membership carries many great benefits, including the ability to attend these semi-annual member meetings!  Learn more about membership benefits and how to become a member on our membership page.  Once you sign up, we’ll send you details on how to register for the June 7th meeting.

Please remember that organization members can bring up to 4 guests, and we encourage all of our members to get a friend or colleague to become a member and bring them along. Only members can attend this fun, free event, but the more members, the merrier!

Can’t wait to see you on the 7th!
