SUMMARY:Eco Materials Site Tour: Transforming Construction Waste
DESCRIPTION:What if construction waste could become the foundation for future projects? \nJoin Green Building United and Circular Philadelphia on October 7 from 9:00–10:30 AM for an exclusive site tour of Eco Materials\, the recipient of Green Building United’s 2025 Sustainable Design & Planning Groundbreaker Award.  \nThis tour will showcase how contaminated and excess soils that would otherwise be landfilled are transformed into valuable construction materials through advanced soil washing and aggregate recycling processes. Attendees will tour the facility\, observe equipment in operation\, and learn how recovered aggregates and manufactured sands are helping reduce waste\, conserve natural resources\, and support more sustainable construction throughout the Philadelphia region.  \nThe tour will also explore the role of circular economy strategies in infrastructure\, brownfield redevelopment\, and commercial construction projects.  \nA light complimentary breakfast will be provided beginning at 9:00 AM thanks to our hosts\, Eco Materials!  \nDate: October 7 \nTime: 9:00–10:30 AM \nCost: $10-$20  \nRegister today: https://greenbuildingunited.app.neoncrm.com/nx/portal/neonevents/events?path=%2Fportal%2Fevents%2F52709

SUMMARY:Greater Philadelphia Circular Materials & Manufacturing Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:By invitation only: Join leaders from across Greater Philadelphia’s manufacturing\, materials\, recycling\, economic development\, government and research communities for the Circular Materials & Manufacturing Innovation Roundtable on October 13th. \nHosted by Circular Philadelphia\, the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Commerce\, Drexel University’s CIRCLE Lab and Spectra Polymers\, this gratis event will explore the practical barriers preventing circular manufacturing from scaling in Greater Philadelphia and identify opportunities to unlock new markets\, reduce waste\, strengthen supply chains\, and improve regional competitiveness. The discussion will be held under Chatham House Rule to encourage candid conversation and open exchange among peers. \nThis will be a working session with a goal of identifying 2–3 clear findings and implementation pathways to advance circular materials and manufacturing in Greater Philadelphia. We’ll kick off with several brief case studies from regional organizations\, such as Saint-Gobain\, Casella\, and Spectra Polymers\, highlighting real-world circular manufacturing initiatives before moving into a facilitated discussion focused on practical challenges and opportunities. \nParticipants will gain insight into how peer manufacturers are approaching circularity\, connect with potential partners across the value chain\, and help identify the infrastructure and market opportunities needed to make circular manufacturing more competitive in Greater Philadelphia. \nFor more information about the roundtable or to learn more about attending email candice@circularphiladelphia.org
