The Rounds delivers everyday essentials — think pantry items and cleaning and paper products — with zero packaging waste. Their mission is to make everyday sustainable choices effortless.
Why did you become a founding member?
To partner with like-minded individuals and organizations who are working together to reduce waste in Philadelphia. To also learn how different entities in the city (textiles, food, government, etc) are working toward zero-waste goals within their own realm, and how they cross over with one another. Because I couldn’t imagine myself putting energy toward anything else!
What does a circular economy mean to your company?
For us, creating a circular economy is about changing the way in which consumers get their everyday household goods. We aim to reduce unnecessary packaging waste by reusing containers that are already in circulation. It’s about stopping things from becoming waste, extending their lifestyle, and finding ways to reuse and reduce instead of recycling – in a world where recycling is not working.
How is your company practicing circularity?
The Rounds is building the future of closed-loop, hyper-efficient commerce in cities. By establishing the most efficient, last-mile logistics network and two-way supply chain, we will be able to keep containers in circularity and eliminate packaging waste.
How can others advance the circular economy?
