Thiago Scabbia
As an engineer, Thiago brings his analytical mind to Circular Philadelphia to help the organization solve complex challenges. As a member of the Textiles Working Group, he is diving deep into markets for recycled fibers to help advance the shift to a circular textile system. We are grateful for his enthusiasm to explore these markets and the supply chain experience that he brings with him in the process.
Why did you join Circular Philadelphia?
I was drawn to Circular Philadelphia’s purpose to build a more sustainable local economy as a fresh organization that was willing to ask difficult questions and to tackle complex problems.
What kind of work do you do and/or interests do you have?
I am a continuous improvement engineer for a major auto parts distributor. My recent focus has been on embedding sustainability decisions within our supply chain and moving the organization towards positive change. I am also an avid traveler who loves to explore Philadelphia’s fantastic music scene during my down time.
What does a circular economy mean to you?
A waste to value ecosystem where incentives are aligned with sustainable decisions that protect our environment and communities.
What advice would you give to someone to help move the circular economy forward?
Dive into the uncertainty and ambiguity as more organizations join the movement. Celebrate wins. Bring others along thru the power of storytelling. There is no playbook, which makes the journey even more fun. And measure success!
