Coblrshop is an online shoe and leather goods repair business that makes it easy for people to have quality repairs made to prolong the life of shoes, bags and other leather goods. They make the process transparent and easy no matter where the customer is located.  They were honored with the Most Innovative Reuse Company award in the Fashion & Apparel category at the 2024 Reusies.

Why did you become a member?

At Coblrshop, our mission is to make repair mainstream (again). We know first hand that network and community are key to success for both our business but also in achieving our mission. We joined Circular Philadelphia to strengthen our network, build meaningful partnerships, learn from this fabulous group, and continue to get out the word about the importance of repair. We also met Samantha and Nic at Circularity 24 and were immediately inspired to join!

What does a circular economy mean to your organization?

Circularity is core to Coblrshop. Everything we do is to support the advancement of the circular economy starting with repair. We are launching a technology solution to support fashion repair businesses and give consumers and brands easy access to repair programs. We know that this is key to advancing more sustainable consumption behaviors and circularity.

How is your organization practicing circularity?

One of Cobrlshop’s guiding principles is to always ask “how we can make repair more convenient and accessible.” This has helped us define our technology product and overall business strategy.

How can others advance the circular economy?

There are so many things it can be overwhelming at times. But, I’d say consider repairing first over buying new. And if you must buy something new, buy quality goods that can be repaired, and preferably, buy secondhand. The more we can shift into a repair and reuse mentality the more we can advance the circular economy.
